our story
Charles and Kallie Kirby have been on the Northside of Holland since 2013. Kallie was born and raised here and loves every part of her hometown of Holland. Charles has served as a teacher and pastor in Holland since moving here and has learned to love the lakeside community.
Northside Church came out of our love for the community of West Ottawa. We have great schools, great parks, great people, and great potential! It is no wonder that people want to live here! We see that God is bringing a new chapter in the story of the Northside as new people are coming and a new community is being formed.
Our desire then as a church is to establish this new community in the truth of God’s Word so that everyone would see and love Jesus as we gather together, and that all of us would go and live the worth of Jesus among neighbors and friends. We believe Jesus is worthy of all.

OUR VALUES
We are commanded to gather together in order to encourage each other to see and love Jesus. We do this together through reading and hearing the Bible, preaching about who God is and what He has done for us in Jesus, speaking to God in prayer, singing songs centered on God and His relationship with us, and practicing the Lord’s supper and baptism. These times together also encourage us to meet regularly for the relational and spiritual good of one another throughout the week.
Encourage Our Family in Christ
We want to see all people participate in the lives of one another for our collective spiritual good. We want to grow in loving devotion to Jesus. We need each other to recognize and turn away from sin in our lives, to be challenged in our understanding of the Bible and who God is, and to be counter formed from following the ways of the world around us. Our heart’s affections will move more and more towards God and others and away from the world and our selfish pursuits as we see and love Jesus.
Change Our Heart’s Affections
All Christians should seek to make the will of Christ supreme in their own lives and in human society. Therefore, Northside Church will seek partnerships with people of good will in any good cause, always being careful to act in a spirit of love without compromising our loyalty to Christ and His truth.
Advance Our City’s Good
We are named Northside because we recognize the joy of being surrounded by a variety of people and possible relationships. We value getting to know other people which is often shown through time at one another’s tables. In other words, we enjoy eating and sharing stories. When we do, we learn to see how our story is tied to the grand story of Jesus so that His saving grace would be received by everyone on the Northside of Holland.
